Lloyd Toku's Parents Speak Out.

Jane & Mike Toku, parents of Lloyd - Big L, one of the Aluu 4 victims spoke out yesterday about the brutal killings of their beloved son. They heard about the lynching and rushed off to save their son and his friends, but unfortunately arrived too late. I can't begin to imagine how they must have felt seeing their son and his friends in that state. They have requested for Justice and I really hope they get it.

Break the Silence...

Sometimes speaking about a sad event such as this is the first step   to healing.

Justice for Aluu 4

I've been so saddened by events that took place on Friday 5th October at a Village, Aluu in Rivers State, Nigeria. Four young University of Port Harcourt students where brutally killed by a mob in what is known as "Jungle Justice". A group of people descended upon these young boys, stripped them naked, bludgeoned them with big wooden sticks and then set them on fire. People witnessed these killings and did nothing about it. Pictures were taken and videos were made, and yet nothing was done to stop these terrible inhumane acts. There have been numerous accounts of what crimes these boys allegedly committed, which led to their sad end. No crime deserves what these boys were subjected to. While I empathize with and understand the frustrations experienced by a community, whom have been repeatedly let down by the Police and Judicial system. I do not support jungle justice, it is barbaric! These boys were stripped of their dignity, denied their right to a fair trial and killed in the most horrific way imaginable. I have watched the video and would not advise any one to watch it! It is so disheartening. I have chosen not to put up any images/videos of the boys in their last moments, because I would like us to remember them as they were before this unfortunate turn of events. My deepest commiserations to their families and loved ones. May their Souls Rest in Peace.
